[Dropped] Blank Page Partially Covering Text
[Dropped] Blank Page Partially Covering Text
HI,
I've searched the forum and was unable to locate any topic similar to what I'm experiencing. OO inserts a "partial" page partially covering a page in which I've inserted a picture. I'm unable to remove the partial page to reveal the text and picture. I'd like to know why OO is doing this (my fault or software glitch), how to fix it, and lastly, how to keep it from happening in the future.
This is not the first project in which this has happened. On a previous project I was able to just recreate the data of the affected page and move on. I'm unable to do that now and given that I'm 30+ pages in, would truly hate to begin again.
Below is a screenshot of what I'm trying to describe.

That's the weirdest thing I've seen in a while! Can you upload the actual document, even if it is just a copy containing only the affected page?

Re: Blank Page Partially Covering Text
I can approximate the posted image with a frame with the wrap set to Wrap Through and with no border. What happens if you right click on the edge of the "partial page"? Is there a Frame option in the context menu?

Re: Blank Page Partially Covering Text
The white block is narrower than the image, so looks to be unrelated to the image. A sample file will be the quickest way to a solution.

If bigger than 128KiB, then use a 3rd party web site for sharing files.

I suppose that you have pasted something from the internet directly.I'd like to know why OO is doing this (my fault or software glitch)
Never do it!
Always paste text content as "Unformatted text".
Always use the "Insert - Image (from file)" menu item for the pictures never paste them directy.
Clean and optimize the images before you Insert them into a document.

Re: Blank Page Partially Covering Text
It isn't a page. It's some type of object like a frame, picture or draw object. Pages are always rendered sequentially, not covering other pages.
Pages are removed automatically when the content on the page is deleted, but this isn't a page. Objects can be removed by clicking the object to select it, then pressing Delete.

In the actual file try clicking on the borders of that white area, which are visible in your screenshot If you get green handles when you do so, press Delete, or right click and select delete from the popup context menu.
