[Dropped] Blank file opens when AndrOffice opens existing file

I am using Open Office 5.4.5 on my Amazon Fire HD 10 (not sure of the Android version). I have .doc files associated with Open Office. When I open an existing file for editing, a blank file is also created, but I can edit and/or save and/or close the existing file and then close Open Office with no problems, i.e. the blank doesn't create a lock file. How do I stop this?

OpenOffice does not run on any Android devices. Even if it did, the latest version of OpenOffice is 4.1.15, so version 5.4.5 does not exist.

I will guess that you are using AndrOffice 5.4.5. For problems with that, contact the AndrOffice developer via support@andropenoffice.com.

You could leverage the app “Collabora Office” which you can find in the devices App Store, this is build on LibreOffice and has an interface that is build for mobile devices. Work pretty good for quick edits imo.

Strange - it claims to be 5.4.5
Oh well. It's a minor issue anyway.
