[Solved] Remove grey outline on paragraphs from website

Post by HowardJ »

I am writing articles on a website with a very rudimentary editor. I can copy and paste them between the website and Writer, but when they come back into Writer each paragraph is "boxed" with a grey outline. Is there some quick way to remove all the boxes? CTRL+M doesn't work.

Reason: Add "grey outline" description to topic subject

When you paste from the website, for instance a forum page, Writer inserts sections around the building blocks of the page, like forum posts. The sections are marked with borders that you can't remove. But you can remove the sections. Open the Navigator (press F5) and inspect the Sections. You can select a section in that overview and select Edit, then delete all sections.

I guess I could have been clearer. I want to remove the borders but leave the text.

For future reference, if you use Edit | Paste Special or Ctrl + Shift + V, and choose Unformatted text the problem won't occur.

You have to select the sections in the "Edit Sections" dialog then click "Remove" on the dialog to remove the section and leave the text. The Edit Sections dialog can be opened by right-clicking a section in the Navigator and selecting "Edit" or by selcting Format > Sections on the Menu Bar.
