[Solved] Cannot follow instructions to mark topic as solved

Post by Oohappyuser »

Hi and Seasons' Greetings,

I posted a Calc question here viewtopic.php?p=549931

I would like to thank the responders who pointed me to the solution ( i.e. .CSV settings had become incorrect).

The last helper post said " If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit ✏️ button and add [Solved] to the start of the Subject field. Select the green checkmark icon at the same time." but I can't oblige because I cannot see the Edit ✏️ button

Cheers,
Oohappyuser
Oh I see now. The first step (to get the Edit pencil to show) is to click on the Subject. If you don't do that step, the pencil does not show. My expectation was that the pencil was always there. Thanks (I think ;) ). I shall now take a Valium and have a lie down.

That's my text. I am unable to locate a Unicode character which looks exactly like the symbol that the forum uses for its Edit Post button. ✏️ was the closest I could find. The pencil icon has been a standard one for Edit for decades, and the forum designers believe that many people will know what it means. Now you do too.

I will add that I suffer from pedanticism.

As well I was recently diagnosed as paranoid when I went to the doctor to get my cholesterol results. He didn't actually SAY I was paranoid, but I could tell that he was thinking it.

Don't you see by default the toolbar? It should look like that, without having to click anything:
