Editing in OpenOffice Writer
Editing in OpenOffice Writer
I started to edit a long text and then closed the program to take a break. I then could not access the text, any of it, to resume editing. I got a notice that it was locked, but I don't know how to unlock it so that I can continue editing.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
If you open AOO and go to the menu File > Recent document list, does it open your file?
Else, in the same folder as your file, there should be a ".~lock.MyFile.odt#" file. It is a temporary file created when you open a file so that it is not edited by more than one user at the same time. Delete that file. You may have to make your Windows file explorer show the hidden files and folder to see it.
You may find backups in the /backup folder of the AOO user profile: [Tutorial] The OpenOffice user profile.
