[Solved] Calc Export to PDF not creating URL links properly

I have used Excel for years in an engineering environment before retirement but I have used OpenOffice only on a few occasions but I am very impressed with it.

I am using OpenOffice to get the URL and internal document links in the resulting PDF because apparently only Open Office provides the internal document links in the resulting PDF file.

I have opened an xlsx file in OO 4.1.15 and the URL links perform properly from within the spreadsheet. When I hover over the link it shows a normal URL address. However, when exported to PDF, hover over the cell and the URL address is replaced with a file reference. Also, if I Copy one of the cells directly from Excel and paste it directly into the ODS spreadsheet cell, that cell when exported to PDF functions correctly. That tells me it is not any settings in ODS that is the problem. It appears to me that when OO opens the xlsx file, it is setting an attribute of the file that forces the "Export URLs relative to the file system" and it can't be turned off.

One other note just for information, I reinstalled ver. 4.1.10 and it opens the xlsx file and then exports to PDF with the URL links in the resulting PDF that are working correctly. However, there are other issues with the file not importing correctly in this version.

Give LibreOffice a try and see if you have a better overall experience with that as opposed to OpenOffice. There are several good reasons for making the switch anyway, some of which are mentioned here: [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information
