PDF Conversion Fails

Post by ankit »

Hello Team,

I tried to convert excel files with "xlsx" format/type using OpenOffice 3 and 4 but files were converted with corrupted text.
I am using Java 8, with OpenOffice 3 and 4 (using both but one at a time) and jodconverter version 4.1.0.

Is there any way to resolve this?

LibreOffice may offer better support for .xlsx format. Another conversion method would be to "print" the files to a virtual PDF printer. Or use an online conversion service such as http://www.zamzar.com

1. Save the file as .ods file. Check it is OK
2. Convert the .ods file to PDF.

See [Tutorial] Differences between Writer and MS Word files for why you should always work in and save Writer files as .odt. It applies to spreadsheet files where the differences are greater.

See the Writer Guide, the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials and Writer for students.

Remember: Always save your Writer files as .odt files. - see here for the many reasons why.
