Elliot realises she shops mostly for the same stuff every week, yet never manages to remember everything. Why not make a shopping-list template with all the regular items pre-filled?
- She starts with a blank document and types in the regular items like milk, bottled water, cereal etc.
- She brings up the save as dialog by selecting the File>Save As item.
- From the File Type selector, she picks 'OpenDocument Text Template' and the output folder changes to where OpenOffice expects templates to be (~/.ooo-2.0/user/template/).
- She names her template 'Shopping List' and saves.
The shopping list template shows up in the template list next time she tries to create a new document with File>New Text Document.
